U10A
Girls Win Harleysville Tournament

The
Methacton United U10A Girls Blue Crush took 1st Place in the 2005 Rob
Schaefer Memorial Classic at Harleysville Soccer Club. On two extremely
hot days with an average temperature in the high 90's, the Blue Crush
tied the Deep Run Lazers 3-3 and 1-1 and then defeated the Harleysville
Hurricanes 7-0 and 5-0. After the tournament ended, the Blue Crush and
the Deep Run Lazers were dead even. So close were the two teams that it
took the 10th tie breaker (shoot out) to determine a winner. After
playing in a 5-player shoot out, the teams were tied 3-3. Finally a
sudden death shoot out gave the Blue Crush a 4-3 win.

Methacton U9
Lightning takes Second at Labor Day Tournament

Methacton
U9 Lightning had an impressive first tournament. Our record at the end
of the tournament was three and one. We outscored our opponents 20-3,
and almost every girl on the team scored a goal. The team improved
every game, ending the tournament with five straight halves which our
defense did not allow a goal. An amazing job for girls that have been
together as a team for less then three months.
